SWEAT's Virus Prevention Best Practices

Cleanliness has always been a priority and one practiced by the staff at SWEAT however, in the wake of the recent declaration of the Corona Virus (aka COVID-19) as a Global Pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), we have implemented the following additional precautionary measures for our staff, members and guests.

SWEAT encourages sick staff and/or members to stay home

If you feel sick and/or you have any of the flu like symptoms (fever, runny nose, coughing, sneezing, etc.) please stay home and follow cough and sneeze etiquette.

We suggest that all staff and members clean their hands frequently

There currently is a shortage but when available, SWEAT will provide hand sanitizer with a minimum of 60% alcohol at the entrance and throughout the facility. We encourage frequent use both before and after a workout.

SWEAT recommends all staff and members use disposable tissues

SWEAT provides tissues and we provide no touch disposal receptacles in easily visible and accessible places throughout the facilities. We recommend you use once and immediately dispose of used tissues.

SWEAT will provide disinfectants and disposable cleaning wipes near all commonly used surfaces

Please use a disposable cleaning wipe in conjunction with the disinfectant cleaner to wipe down surfaces both before and after use with a disinfectant that is a hospital grade disinfectant or one with at least 70% alcohol. Wiping surfaces clean can reduce germs, but only disinfectant that is at least 70% alcohol kills germs.

SWEAT's staff are encouraged to avoid hands-on contact with members and guests

Yes, this one will be extremely difficult in our loving and caring family environment but, we encourage that staff and members try to avoid handshakes or other close-contact greetings. Trainers and group exercise instructors should make adjustments to form or alignment verbally, without direct physical skin-to-skin contact.  If physical skin-to-skin contact is encountered, we suggest you use hand sanitizer or wash your hands before touching any part of your face.

SWEAT suggests that class participants bring their own mats or use a towel barrier

For group classes, participants must either disinfect shared mats both before and after use or bring their own. As an added precaution, participants can put a towel on top of a mat to serve as a barrier.

SWEAT has reduced all group class sizes to 10 or less in compliance with "social distancing" recommendations

Smaller class sizes will allow participants to space themselves in class so they are at least 3-6 feet away from other members at all times.  To guarantee a spot, this will require participants to use the SWEAT Mobile app to book and reserve their spot in advance and not merely show up to class. 

SWEAT regularly perform routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces

We clean anything daily in which staff and members commonly touch—for example, doorknobs, handrails, light switches, handles, drinking fountains, toilets, faucets, sinks, lockers, benches, gym equipment, tables, computers, keyboards, headsets, microphones, television and music remote controls, and all desks and other surfaces.
